Rediscovering Bangladesh 2015

In our journey of rediscovering Bangladesh we have embarked on a quest for her reverie beauty. The country in its territory has been endowed with plenty of resources that help sustain a rising population of 160 million, the 8th largest one in the word . Her nature is home to unique flora and fauna making the country one of the richest places of biodiversity. The rivers of Bangladesh mark both physiography of the delta and life of the people. In all her many beauties rivers are one feature that remains defines the true character of Bangladesh in a variety of ways. Rivers, presenting one of the largest networks in the world and numbering about 700 inclusive of tributaries and distributaries, are the pride of Bangladesh. The large rivers serve as the main source of water for cultivation and major arteries of commercial transportation. Rivers also provide fish, an important source of protein. They are the most important geographical feature responsible for creating this vast fertile delta from deposits of silt brought down from the Himalayas. From scenic hilly streams to meandering seasonal creeks, muddy canals and some truly magnificent rivers and their tributaries, Bangladesh is undoubtedly the ‘Land of Rivers’.
